June 2010 is Busting Out all Over
Bali by the Numbers: June Figures Strong for Bali Arrivals as Island Shoots for 2.5 million visitors by Year's End.
(7/31/2010) Half year figures for foreign tourist arrivals to Bali are now available, indicating good growth figures are back on course after a momentary April lull. June arrivals month-on-month increased 15.19% (219,574) as compared to June 2009. On a cumulative basis for the first half of the year total arrivals equaled 1,148,461 – an increase of 12.86% over the previous year.
Projection for 2010
Now, with the first six months arrival figures in hand, it is possible to extrapolate that, assuming arrival growth trends hold steady through the remainder of the year, Bali will end 2010 with a record-high 2.5 million visitors.
Jubilation on this point should, however, be tempered with the fact that Bali visitors are trending to stay for shorter periods and spending less on a per diem basis. As a result, despite an increase in arrivals for 2009, total foreign exchange earned by tourism declined.

People's Republic of China - PRC arrivals for June were at 14,726 with the Chinese travelers now representing the 3rd most significant source of Bali visitors.
